Where is Epe?

Epe is a town and local government area (LGA) in Lagos State, Nigeria Located on the North side of the Lekki lagoon and about 90km from Ibadan.

In October 2022, Lagos State Governor received the approval from the federal government for the construction of the New International Airport in Aiyetoro Ibeju-Lekki. It will be sited on 3,500 Hectares of land right in Aiyetoro Scheme Ibeju-Lekki and it is designed to accommodate 5Million passengers per annum with the scope for extension in the future. This project is to commence 2023.

(ii) Lagos Film City; Lagos firm and media city is said to be built on 100 Hectares of land in Ejirin city in Epe, Lagos and it is envisioned as a sanctuary for leisure, entertainment and learning where all firm and creative industry professionals can live, work, learn and play in this peaceful and conducive environment.

(iii) Lekki-Epe Concrete Road Construction of 6 Dual Roads; This is an 18.75km reinforced concrete road and it takes shape from the Eleko junction in Ibeju-Lekki down to the T-junction in Epe. It is designated for heavy duty vehicles which has been constructed and now road construction is stating from Eleko junction to Abraham Adesanya Ajah.

(iv) On-going and proposed industrial developments such as the Dangote Refinery which is expected to be the world’s biggest single-train facility and estimated to cost $9Billion. The refinery is expected to double Nigeria’s refining capacity, largely to accommodate the pressing demand for fuel and export to foreign markets in and out of Africa. A fertilizer plant is also included in the refinery complex, to fully utilize the raw materials released from the refinery.

(v) Lekki Deep Sea Port which has been completed and handed over to the government. We have the Lekki Free Zone where companies can come trade without paying tax, the fourth (4) mainland bridge, Alaro City, Lekki International Golf Course, Eleganza Industries, Julius Berger Factory in Epe. This project and much more is coming to Ibeju-Lekki and Epe axis.

3 The interest of the government is in this location; The Lagos State Government focus more on this axis that is why a lot of innovation and huge/mega project are coming while some has been completed like the road Contruction of the Lekki-Epe expressway, the Lekki deep seaport among others.
